Broadway Baby Class
ACTORS AGE 4 - 6
CLASS MEETS WEEKLY ON TUESDAYS FROM 4 - 5pm
Students will begin the process of learning how to perform in front of an audience. Through the art of storytelling, games, activities, scenes and music students will be exposed to all the necessary ingredients of theatre performance. At the end of the semester, the student showcase will consist of an original class performance cultivated, written and performed by the students and open to the public!
Theatre³: Becoming A Triple Threat Class
ACTORS AGE 8 - 18
CLASS MEETS WEEKLY ON TUESDAYS FROM 5 - 6PM
Each student will be coached and mentored on Acting, Dance and Voice (both stage and song). Students will be taught the importance of each craft individually and collectively and how to implement their newfound skills into auditions and performances. The end of semester performance will showcase all three art forms in a musical review imagined by the students!
THIS CLASS MEETS WEEKLY FROM 4 - 5PM
This class will offer multi-sensory theatre for those with an autism spectrum condition and/or other neuro-developmental differences. Luckenbooth strives to enrich the lives of these students by increasing their access to theatre and fostering their use of performance as a channel for expression. Students in this class will also be given advanced consideration for our first Adapt2Act production of Harold and the Purple Crayon. The Luckenbooth Theatre Academy proudly welcomes ALL capabilities into our programming. If your child requires special assistance, please let us know - we are happy to accommodate.
Advanced Acting Class
CLASSES MEET THURSDAYS FROM 6 - 7PM
*students must have been previously enrolled in a Luckenbooth class
In this class, students will build upon previously learned skills to portray more compelling characters and complex scenes. Students will focus on realistic acting, commanding audience attention, and developing a stage presence. They will learn and discuss the basic elements of drama to better understand and analyze characters and scripted material. End of semester performances will consist of a production of short scenes.
Intro to Acting Class
CLASS MEETS WEEKLY ON THURSDAYS FROM 5 - 6PM
In this class, students will use various creative drama techniques to build ensemble, stimulate imagination, movement, and role-play with an emphasis on believability. Students will be taught to direct their focus, intent, and motivation to create and sustain a character. End of semester performances will showcase their newfound knowledge of character development with monologue performances.
